Green Infrastructure & Community Benefits at the Forensic Services & Coroner’s Complex
The Forensic Services and Coroner’s Complex (FSCC) is one of the most advanced forensic facilities in North America, bringing together multiple provincial agencies under one highly integrated, 663,500-square-foot campus.
This presentation and guided site tour examine how FSCC’s LEED Gold design and ongoing green infrastructure initiatives deliver operational efficiencies, reduce environmental impact, and create meaningful community benefits.
Sustainability Highlights
Constructed to a LEED Gold standard, FSCC has earned multiple national recognitions including BOMA BEST Platinum, BOMA’s 2025 TOBY Award, the NAFA Clean Air Award, and 3R Certified Gold.
The facility features advanced systems such as HVAC condensate recovery, carbon capture via an algae bioreactor, grey-water reuse, living walls, and laboratory ventilation strategies that generate over $190,000 in annual energy savings.
